Who we are
VillaCubaAnita ("we") rents the accommodation described on this site and decides what happens to the personal information set out below.

We are a family guest house: the person who reads and answers these emails is the owner, not a department.
This policy does not cite the law of any particular country. It sets out commitments we make to every guest, wherever they live, and they amount to what is expected of anyone handling personal data on the internet: ask only for what is needed, use it only for what it was given for, keep it carefully, and give you control over it. Where the law of your own country gives you broader rights than these, those rights prevail.
What we collect
What you give us
When you send a booking request we collect your name, email, phone (optional), the dates and rooms you choose, the number of guests, whether you declare that you are travelling as one family to take the family rate, and any message you write in the form.
If you pay by bank transfer and upload a receipt, we receive the file you attach, which usually shows your name and part of your bank details.
We do not receive or store your card number or its security code. When a payment is taken online, the gateway processes it entirely in its own systems; all that reaches us is a payment identifier, the amount, the currency and whether it went through.
What is collected automatically
- Technical connection data: IP address, browser, the page requested, where you came from, and timestamps.
- The IP address each request was sent from, stored alongside the booking so fraudulent or abusive requests can be investigated.
- Cookies and browser storage, described in our Cookie Policy. Until you decide in the banner, only strictly necessary storage is used.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for children's data, we buy nobody's lists, and we make no automated decisions about you: a person accepts or declines every request.

None of the above is used for advertising, yours or anyone else's. You can withdraw analytics consent whenever you like from Cookie preferences in the footer; withdrawing it stops the measurement from that moment on.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone for advertising. It is seen only by the providers needed to run the site and to reply to you:

The reviews on the home page are copied by hand into the site itself: seeing them sends nothing to Google.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to defend a claim.
Where it is handled
We are in Cuba and the providers in the table above run servers in several countries, so your information leaves your own country the moment you use this site. That is true of any website. What is in our hands is how many providers we hand it to: the list above is the whole of it, and there is nobody else.
How long we keep it
We keep requests and bookings for as long as the relationship is live, and after that for as long as we need them for the accounts of the house and to answer any complaint.
One thing is worth knowing, because it is a real limitation: the site deletes nothing on its own. Requests left unanswered are marked as lapsed after fourteen days, but the record stays until we delete it by hand. If you want yours deleted, write to us and we will do it.
Your cookie choice is stored in your own browser rather than on our servers, and disappears if you clear the site's data.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything wrong or incomplete;
- delete what we no longer need to keep;
- stop using your data for something in particular;
- withdraw a consent you gave us, such as the one for analytics.
Write to annamilonecuba25@gmail.com and we will reply as soon as we can, and within one month at the latest. We may ask you to write from the same email you booked with: that is how we check it is you and not somebody asking for your data.
There is one limit we would rather tell you up front: if you have a stay under way or still to be paid for, we cannot delete that booking's record until it is over and the accounts are settled.
Security
The site is always served encrypted (TLS). Access to the database is restricted, transfer receipts go to a private storage container reachable only through short-lived signed links, the forms are rate-limited to blunt abuse, and card details never pass through our servers.
No system is perfect. If we ever find that data has been improperly accessed in a way that could harm you, we will tell you by email as soon as we know what happened, rather than waiting until we have every detail.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the "last updated" date in the header; and if the change is a significant one and you have a stay coming up, we will write to you.
